Conclusions and implications: Buprenorphine has an opioid component to its supraspinal mechanism of analgesic action. Our present results reveal an additional supraspinal component insensitive to naloxone, PTX and nociceptin/orphanin-FQ, but involving Gz protein and Ser/Thr protein phosphatase. These data might help explain the unique preclinical and clinical profiles of buprenorphine. (Source: British Journal of Pharmacology)

What is the difference between the suboxone and methadone treatment 6 Replies
Was addicted to all sorts of opiates over the last few years. Switched to suboxone a year ago and have been gradually weening down. I started with 5 now I am down to 3. I have lost so much money from them- so expensive! I had medicaid in Ny and just moved to FLorida. Will be some time before I set up insurance. What can I do now that I have no pills and no way to pay for my script at the pharmacy. What can I take thats cheaper possible or any ideas? If I try methadone clinic, would have to wait until Tuesday for my first dose.
been on sub and val for 2 yrs. whats the hardest to get off of because the withdrawals are horrible.
suboxone is an opiate withdrawal pill. its for people who used pain pills or heroin. i used pills. u put it under your tongue and let it de solve and it helps u with the withdrawals but the docs never told me it was addicting! UGH! its tough . if i dont have my meads I’m very sick and hurting. this is the worst experience in my life. wish i never NEVER took a pill. I’m also on Gab and Ambient. i want off Gab. thats like Neron tin
Conclusions:
Working memory may be persistently affected in OST patients with BZD use. A high number of memory complaints among OST patients with BZD use may indicate memory consolidation impairment. These findings show that recovery of memory function in OD patients treated along with BZDs takes time, and their memory complaints may have practical relevance. Ive seen thousands of testimonies about this drug, Ive been to the website seen everything about it and it sounds like something I wanna get on, now I am not a drug addict truthfully I would like to call myself “physically dependent” on percocet. I had a car accident in Aug of 2005 Aug 21 2005 and a couple days later the doctor saw how much pain I was in and prescribed me percocet 15 of them. When I first took them they did nothing to me but put me to sleep, I mean literally no euphoria nothing but I was taking them like every 4-6 hours as prescribed. Then like in October of that following year I got my hands on a 10mg I was high as a kite I felt like I loved the world that’s when it all started for me mind you I was only 16 Ive been getting 7.5 mg tablets every month for about 5 years on top of it 60 5/325mg Percs in the beginning I looked forward to the Percs but I could tolerate going a month without them the amount of the 7.5s I got were 10 a month then it escalatedd to 25 a month of the 7.5s anyway I find myself at 20 years old addicted I cant function without them and the 60 percs are my moms not mine so its like she helps me out sometimes right now Ihaven’tt had a percocet since like 3pm this afternoon im gettingcold-sweatss and even when I was working I found myself going to the ER for 15 and 20 to last me like 3-4 days now Idon’tt abuse this medicine I do have Kidney disease Idon’tt take no more than 2 every 4 to six hours but I guess my body is used to taking this medication as a routine and cannot function without it, I was thinking about going to aRehabilitationn place to get Suboxone so I dont crave this stuff anymore the thing about it is the docs dont warn you about how addictive pain medicine is Ive been to the hospital ALOT for this medication I was even told one time by one doctor shes not giving me a presciption for pain meds cause I had over 200 scripts since January of 2008! So I wanna know, like do you think this is the best option for me? I mean if I dont have the medication I get achey back symptoms I yawn alot and get a runny nose and cramps those are mywithdrawall symptoms I dont shake or kick I think its because Ihaven’tt went passed the dosage does anyone know from personal experience how Suboxone works? I would like to hear your stories and how much success you have with Suboxone.
Thanks for the the feedback everyone! I should explain the logo… when I was doing the logo contest at logotournament.com (which is an excellent resource by the way) I asked for help in picking a winner. The logo at the top of the page was not an entry at that point, and [...]
