im gonna take suboxone to get past the opiate W?D and i want to know how much to start with. and how to do it??
Someone I know recently starting taking Suboxone through a doctor that specializes in narcotic addiction. She’s doing this all voluntarily and is taking meetings at our local rehab place. Her doctor recommends (and insists) that she go 20-30 miles each night to do to NA meetings. And saying she’s annoying him and says she’s not taking this serious. She doesn’t drive, her husband doesn’t get home until 4pm, and her son had sports every monday, wednesday & friday. How is she supposed to go? He says she’s just making excuses. Is this normal for an addict (clean 7 days) to NEED to go to meetings that often? She is also doing 1-on-1 with a rehab therapist & continuing therapy sessions with her normal therapist.

My friend’s brother was acting and looked like he was on opiates the other day. We came to find out he was not and actually took a Suboxone pill. Is that true? Can it make a non opiate user high? He’s very young. Any info would be appreciated as we’re trying to figure this out.

Let me state CLEARLY that the medications are mine but my doctor did not tell me about the combination or “cocktail” I only take the suboxone when the craving for pain medications that I became addicted to become severly intence. I took one suboxone this morning but was unclear about taking zanax or ambien in the morning when I get off my graveyard shift.
And being how it is Saturday and tomorrow will be Sunday-there is no doctors office nor pharmacy open in the small town I live in.

Can a doctor that prescribes Suboxone as part of a treatment plan for opiod addiction, kick anyone out at any time if the doctor wants to?
Also, Are doctors that prescribe Suboxone not supposed to call in this medicine if you need it urgently?
I am asking because my friend is having some doubts about this treatment option…
and the doctor he goes to is not always great to have for an addiction issue…such as this doctor has gone on vacation and been gone longer than planned so my friend had to withdrawl since he ran out of his suboxone. If the doctor was back or had an on call nurse then he would of gotten his medicine he is prescribe and wouldn’t of had to withdrawl do the doctor being gone. He has had some issues with how the doctor treats him and I am just wanting to help him through this hard, expensive process. Your answers and any help about the rights patients have, what Suboxone prescribing doctors can and can’t do for there patients, and anything else helps alot.

To answer #1- he has thought of doing the Methadone treatment and feels it wouldn’t be good since he also abused methadone like he did with other opiates.
So we didn’t think that would be a good choice but who knows mabye it could work. I have heard good and bad about all treatments, I guess cause all medications for people addiction issues can be bad to some and good to others. Everyone has a different mind frame…

I am thinking of takin suboxone. I have heard good and bad things about it. I am currently taking ALOT of percicet, oxcy,vicoden, loratab, zanax, or anything that will keep me from goin through dt’s. Has anyone tried suboxone? How is it? How does it work? Do you still experience the DT’s?
