Ready for Prime Time? SuboxDoc’s YouTube Debut!

At the suggestion of our friend at the Suboxone taper site, I played around today and made a video on YouTube. I was assured that a video would bring in hundreds of thousands of opiate addicts, all hungry for knowledge about addiction and Suboxone. I will let you all know how it works out! Last night [...]

Addict, Heal Thyself… But Not With Suboxone!

Tonight’s discussion comes from the tail end of a discussion with a relative of a person who is addicted to opiates, and who is doing something that is unfortunately growing in popularity– buying and using Suboxone ‘on the street’. In my private practice, most of the people who have gone on Suboxone have done very [...]

Resolved Question: suboxone assistance programs?

My husband is on suboxone and the dr he sees doesn’t take any type of insurance. Are there any drs in Southwest Virginia that accept insurance for this type of treatment?

Resolved Question: i want to speak to my dr about my addiction, will i get in trouble?

after i gave birth to my son 8 months ago, i was given percocet for the pain of a c section. i was on it about 2 weeks and came off with somewhat moderate withdrawels. well, i also got really bad back pain from the epidural that still hasent gone away and my dr didnt give me anything that helped, so a friend gave me a percocet. this worked, long story short, i got addicted. i have been taking them about 6 months now, right now i am taking 15mg 3 times a day. i really want to get off with a taper. i dont want suboxone or methodone. but if i go to my dr to tell him i need help with this, will they call cps on me? i am a really good mother, i just have a problem right now. i want help and i tried cold turkey but its too much for me. do you think my regular dr can help me or should i try to taper my self? also, whats a good taper scheduele?? thanks in advance
oh god no, i dont buy pills on the internet!!! my friend has a prescription for them, but he doesnt take them.
i dont act erraticly or drive when i take them. definatly not! and the dr is very bad with actually trying to get to the bottom of my back pain. i did have an xray and an mri, but they found nothing. he actually called me at home like a month ago and said he was going to talk to a neurologist for me. but i never heard back from him and everytime i call the office he is unavailable and never calls me back. i really want to try and get in to see him sunday since he wont return my phone calls. but i am debating on if i should just see a new dr. the original dr i was seeing there was really actively trying to help me, but she left the practice to go into orthopedics and now im stuck with this old geezer! he gave me a low dose of some anti-depressant and a medicine that is similar to motrin. neither of them work which im guessing is what led me to my new problem.

Resolved Question: Severe constipation and the ER?

OK I am on Suboxone and I know that is the reason for the severe constipation. This happens to me once or twice a month Miralax usually works 1 time I had to use golightly which liquefies everything. This time I am just exhausted its been one and a half weeks and it hurts so bad, there’s a baseball size block and I tried the golightly last night an it just gave me loose stools and somehow the block is just moving around to let a small amount out. I don’t know what to do, if I go to the ER I want to know what to expect. Please help me. I need a real answer this is serious I’m in serious pain!!!!!!!!!

Open Question: Does anybody know of a nice subutex/suboxone forum?

Open Question: Depression from stopping taking Opiates?

I am a 20 year old male. I used to take Percodan and developed a pretty bad addiction for about a year. Taking it would make me feel extremely content which is what made me want to take it, but it started destroying my health and I just didn’t want this horrible addiction. So I started taking Suboxone, which I’ve now been on for like 6 months. I find the Suboxone making me lethargic and I don’t like the effect it has but I’m finding it very difficult to stop taking because when I try to taper down or just stop taking it, I get really depressed. Can anyone help me out with some advice on what to do? Are there any natural remedies or vitamins I could take or anything? I don’t want to take anti-depressants, unless as an absolute last resort. I’ve heard that when you take Percodan for any extended period of time, your body stops building the endorphins (Serotonin?) in your body that make you happy…My question is 1)Is that also true for Suboxone?, and 2)What happens when you stop taking them? Does your body just not produce that anymore or does it repair itself? I’m wondering if maybe I really do need to take anti-depressants to fix this. I feel like a fraction of the happy laughing person I was before I ever started taking Percodan and want to get back to that. I’d appreciate any help or advice SO much. Thank you all!
I initially started taking the Percodan because I had two major surgeries on my back. I took it in the recovery weeks after the operations and then stopped. About a year later my severe back pain was coming back and I figured oh hey those pills helped me then, they’ll probably help me now. My quack doctor didn’t see anything wrong with prescribing a kid endless prescriptions (although the blame and responsibility falls on me). I honestly didn’t know any of the repercussions of taking this thing until it was too late. And then whenever I tried to stop taking it, the pain and depression was just so severe that I couldn’t do it. Suboxone was a good band aid but I really can’t stand it ! The depression is just very severe when I stop taking it. If I decide to go off it is that something that will go away? I really want to get off it but my doctor just wants to put me on other drugs when I want to be on absolutely nothing! How long does it typically take the brain to get back to normal?

Development and validation of a hplc method for the determination of buprenorphine hydrochloride, naloxone hydrochloride and noroxymorphone in a tablet formulation.

Development and validation of a HPLC method for the determination of buprenorphine hydrochloride, naloxone hydrochloride and noroxymorphone in a tablet formulation. Talanta. 2009 Feb 15;77(4):1415-9 Authors: Mostafavi A, Abedi G, Jamshidi A, Afzali D, Talebi M A simple isocratic reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method (RP-HPLC) was developed for the simultaneous determination of buprenorphine hydrochloride, naloxone hydrochloride dihydrate and its major impurity, noroxymorphone, in pharmaceutical tablets. The chromatographic separation was achieved with 10mmolL(-1) potassium phosphate buffer adjusted to pH 6.0 with orthophosphoric acid and acetonitrile (17:83, v/v) as mobile phase, a C-18 column, Perfectsil Target ODS3 (150mmx4.6mm i.d., 5mum) kept at 35 d…

Home buprenorphine/naloxone induction in primary care

CONCLUSIONS  Home buprenorphine induction was feasible and appeared safe. Induction complications occurred at expected rates and were not associated with short-term treatment drop-out.
