Voting Question: will suboxone show up in a drug test?

i have been taking a medication called suboxone for a few weeks now to help me from having withdrawl symptoms when i came off of pain killers that i was taking for a few years due to an injury i was suffering from. i got a job today and must take a pre-employment drug test. i know they are looking more for illegal drugs, but i dont even want prescription drugs showing up in my urine. will the suboxone show up in the drug test? thanks in advance for your help…oh, i am current currently taking two 8 mg tablets a day
i have been told it wont show up bcuz it is all synthetic opiate

Resolved Question: Is it safe to go from 4mg to just 1mg on SUBOXONE?

I am on suboxone. I am trying my hardest to get off of this medication. I am currently on 4mg daily. I want to wean off as low as possible….can I go from 4mg to 1mg?? How long will it take for my body to adjust without feeling discomfort?

Resolved Question: Why does it feel like I can never overcome this?

It has been 2 years since I have even touched a percocet. I trully thank God for this, for this I am greatful. However. my doctor helped me get through the withdrawals from percocets with the medication SUBOXONE. It has been nearly 2 years and he still has me on this medication. This medication if stopped, you will experience withdrawals
that can last an eternity. I have tried stopping the medication on my own…..yet it is impossible to face the withdrawals with 3 children and 1 infant to look after. You are overcome with this horrible low energy that it litterelly throws you in bed. You feel immobilized and the flu like symptoms are unbearable!!!! Everytime I go see my doctor, I don’t have the nerve to tell him how I really feel, for fear that he will stop the medication all together. This scares me due to the withdrawals. At times I just want to scream from the top of my lungs to him that I want to stop this medication…..but then, what will he do?? Is he allowed to just stop the medication?? There has to be a way and I long for the day that I wont need this medication. For God’s sake, I overcame the painkillers!! Has anyone overcome this?? Please help!!

Resolved Question: Does Strattera have any addictive qualities?

My fiance is on the Suboxone program for opiate addiction. His doctor recently lowered his dosage, and he has been doing fine. The only complaint was that he had difficulty concentrating on the lower dosage, so the doctor prescribed him Strattera for ADD. Firstly, my fiance doesn’t feel he has ADD or, if he does, it’s a very mild case of it. Secondly, him and I both have a history of addiction, particularly with amphetamine ADD meds such as Adderall and Ritalin. We would fake our way through tests and doctor-shop to obtain the drug, and we wound up in some pretty bad places. Both of us are in recovery now, and working strong programs, but I worry that the medicine may trip him into old “addict behavior”, or have some sort of mood or mind-altering effect that will either lead him to become dependent on the drug, or craving something stronger. His doctor assured him that Strattera is safe. I think his doctor is a bozo, and prescribed it unnecessarily. Please share your experiences with Strattera- does it have potential for abuse? Obviously, the Strattera website doesn’t admit to anything like that, so that’s why I’m asking for personal stories. We have come a long way, and we can’t afford to mess around with sh*t like this.

Resolved Question: So far everything I’ve read about suboxone is primarily used for addiction, so why am I being treated 4 pain?

My dr. has been treating my pain w/ suboxone for over a year now. I was being treated @ a pain clinic for 6yrs. and I told my dr. I did’nt want to take pain meds anymore I wanted another option, so he put me on suboxone. Everything I’ve read about it says it’s used to treat drug addiction, and not for treating pain, it works very well for pain, so im a bit confused why more people are not treated for pain w/ suboxone? I never abused my meds, never had a problem w/ them either I just did’nt like the way they made me feel and wanted other options. Is there anyone else out there thats being treated w/suboxone for pain?

Resolved Question: how long does it take to catch a habit with suboxone?

I’m kicking dope right now for the millionth time but anyway. i don’t have a script for suboxone. I usually just buy them off people who do have a script. I usually can kick of off one pill if i cut it into quarters. I know that you can catch a habit with subs. right now i have 3 pills and i took a half today, in detox they give it to you for 4 days in smaller doses. How long does it take to catch a habit off of them?

Predictors of outcome for short-term medically supervised opioid withdrawal during a randomized, multicenter trial of buprenorphine-naloxone and clonidine in the nida clinical trials network drug and alcohol dependence.

Related Articles Predictors of outcome for short-term medically supervised opioid withdrawal during a randomized, multicenter trial of buprenorphine-naloxone and clonidine in the NIDA clinical trials network drug and alcohol dependence. Drug Alcohol Depend. 2008 Sep 19; Authors: Ziedonis DM, Amass L, Steinberg M, Woody G, Krejci J, Annon JJ, Cohen AJ, Waite-O’Brien N, Stine SM, McCarty D, Reid MS, Brown LS, Maslansky R, Winhusen T, Babcock D, Brigham G, Muir J, Orr D, Buchan BJ, Horton T, Ling W Few studies in community settings have evaluated predictors, mediators, and moderators of treatment success for medically supervised opioid withdrawal treatment. This report presents new findings about these factors from a study of 344 opioid-dependent men and women prospectively randomized to either buprenorphine-naloxone or clonidine in an open-label 13-day medically supervised withdrawal study. Subjects were either inpatient or outpatient in community treatment settings; however not randomized by treatment setting. Medication type (buprenorphine-naloxone versus clonidine) was the single best predictor of treatment retention and treatment success, regardless of treatment setting. Compared to the outpatient setting, the inpatient setting was associated with higher abstinence rates but similar retention rates when adjusting for medication type. Early opioid withdrawal severity mediated the relationship between medication type and treatment outcome with buprenorphine-naloxone being superior to clonidine at relieving early withdrawal symptoms. Inpatient subjects on clonidine with lower withdrawal scores at baseline did better than those with higher withdrawal scores; inpatient subjects receiving buprenorphine-naloxone did better with higher withdrawal scores at baseline than those with lower withdrawal scores. No relationship was found between treatment outcome and age, gender, race, education, employment, marital status, legal problems, baseline depression, or length/severity of drug use. Tobacco use was associated with worse opioid treatment outcomes. Severe baseline anxiety symptoms doubled treatment success. Medication type (buprenorphine-naloxone) was the most important predictor of positive outcome; however the paper also considers other clinical and policy implications of other results, including that inpatient setting predicted better outcomes and moderated medication outcomes.
